The Statistics Centre – Abu Dhabi (SCAD) participated in the 20th International Association for Official Statistics (IAOS) Conference, held from 12 to 14 May 2026 in Vilnius, Lithuania, presenting Abu Dhabi’s experience in applying artificial intelligence, administrative data, and advanced methodologies to strengthen the role of official statistics in public decision-making.
The Statistics Centre – Abu Dhabi (SCAD) has received the Strategic Impact Initiative Award under the Collaborative Initiatives Awards category as part of the Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance, in recognition of the Abu Dhabi Register-Based Census. The Statistics Centre - Abu Dhabi (SCAD) has announced that Abu Dhabi’s economy expanded by 7.7% in the third quarter of 2025 (July to September) compared to the same period in 2024, reaching its highest quarterly value on record at AED 325.7 billion. The non-oil economy recorded solid growth of 7.6% year-on-year, reflecting sustained momentum across a broad range of economic activities and the effectiveness of Abu Dhabi’s long-term economic diversification strategy.
The Statistics Centre - Abu Dhabi (SCAD) has become the first government entity in Abu Dhabi to achieve dual international certification for geospatial data, earning ISO 19115 for geographic metadata and ISO 19157 for geographic information - data quality. This milestone places SCAD among a limited number of statistical institutions globally to operationalize both standards in an integrated, production-grade environment.
