The Statistics Centre – Abu Dhabi (SCAD) participated in KEZAD Connect 2026, held on 12 and 13 October at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, showcasing how artificial intelligence, official statistics and responsible data partnerships can support industrial growth, investment planning and business competitiveness.
Through three complementary solutions, Suhail, Data for Good and Bayaan, SCAD highlighted how the business community can benefit from a user-centric statistical system that listens to businesses, understands their information needs, enables them to help shape future statistical priorities and makes trusted statistics easier to access.
His Excellency Abdulla Gharib Alqemzi, Director General of SCAD, emphasised the importance of responding to business needs: “Abu Dhabi’s industrial ambitions require trusted statistics that respond to evolving economic priorities and support informed decisions. Whether a manufacturer is planning expansion, an investor is evaluating opportunities or a business is assessing its workforce needs, access to relevant information provides a stronger foundation for planning.”
H.E. added: “SCAD is strengthening the connection between statistical planning and users’ priorities through the responsible application of artificial intelligence, stronger data partnerships and easier access to official statistics. We want businesses to have a meaningful voice in shaping the statistics they need. These efforts support investment, industrial competitiveness and the emirate’s long-term economic diversification.”

Suhail: Bringing Business Needs into Statistical Planning
SCAD showcased Suhail, an AI agent acting as its Statistical Portfolio Associate, supporting the identification, clarification and assessment of statistical needs across the emirate.
Suhail helps translate stakeholders’ strategic priorities and operational requirements into clearly defined statistical needs, supporting the development and prioritisation of the Statistical Portfolio. Specialist teams retain responsibility for validation, prioritisation, methodological oversight and quality assurance.
For the industrial community, this approach provides businesses with a more accessible way to communicate their needs and contribute to future statistical planning. These may include statistics relevant to industrial activity, economic diversification, workforce availability and investment decisions.
At KEZAD Connect, SCAD demonstrated how Suhail can help structure statistical requirements and support more responsive, user-centric statistical planning.

Data for Good: Building on Partnerships to Unlock Greater Value
SCAD also highlighted Data for Good, an initiative that promotes secure and responsible data collaboration between government and private sector organisations.
Building on this foundation, Data for Good continues to evolve in response to emerging economic and statistical needs, with a growing focus on unlocking the value of private sector data to address statistical information gaps and strengthen economic insights.
At KEZAD Connect, SCAD highlighted opportunities to deepen collaboration with industrial businesses, enabling their data to contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of economic activity and better-informed investment and policy decisions, while safeguarding confidentiality, privacy and data security.

Bayaan: Making Official Statistics More Accessible to Businesses
SCAD also showcased Bayaan, its digital platform designed to provide access to Abu Dhabi’s official statistics through economic indicators, interactive dashboards, reports and publications.
Through Bayaan, manufacturers and investors can explore economic performance, population trends, labour market developments and other indicators relevant to their business decisions.
By making trusted statistical information easier to discover, interpret and use, Bayaan supports evidence-based planning and reduces the effort required to find relevant official statistics.

Strengthening the Connection Between Statistics and Industry
SCAD’s participation at KEZAD Connect 2026 reinforced its commitment to building closer relationships with Abu Dhabi’s industrial and business community and placing users at the centre of statistical development.
The Centre encouraged manufacturers, investors and business leaders to share their statistical information needs, explore opportunities for responsible data collaboration and make greater use of the official statistics available through Bayaan.
These engagements support SCAD’s broader objective of ensuring that Abu Dhabi’s statistical system continues to evolve alongside the emirate’s economy, strengthening the evidence available to support investment, competitiveness and sustainable growth.
This reflects SCAD’s commitment to a statistical system where businesses are not merely consumers of official statistics, but active contributors to identifying the statistical needs that will shape Abu Dhabi’s future.
